NAILS
Q: how long do your nail sets typically last?
A: it is best to get your new nail set every 3-4 weeks. this will ensure that the structural integrity of your nail isn’t compromised by the added weight of the gel. everyone’s nails grow at different rates and some of my clients come every 2.5 weeks, some every 6 weeks!
Q: what is the difference between overlay and gelx?
A: gelx is a form of extension using soft gel tips adhered to your natural nails with hard gel. a soak-off is required between each set.
overlay is a soft builder gel (BIAB) layer applied to the natural nail underneath the gel polish. it provides strength and structure to the nail without adding bulk or length. an overlay can be filled every 3-5 weeks!
Q: what aftercare should I do for my nails?
A: keep the area underneath your nail clean using a nail scrub brush, apply cuticle oil twice a day to prevent lifting and chipping, and pre-book your next nail appointment every month to stay on top of it!
LASHES
Q: how long do your lash sets typically last?
A: no matter how strong the glue is or how well the lashes are applied, lashes will grow and shed! that being said, i only use high-quality, locally made glue to ensure the best retention for our west coast climate! ultimately i don’t recommend going longer than 3.5 weeks without getting them filled or removed.
Q: are your lash sets customized to each client's face shape?
A: yes! no two lash sets are the same. i encourage my clients to show me inspo of styles they like, however, each set is reworked to fit your eye shape, face shape, etc.
Q: do you offer volume or mega volume lash sets?
A: i specialize in natural, custom-styled lash sets. typically volume and mega volume sets are not “natural” looking sets. however sets labeled as classic, hybrid, and volume, are just different ratios of which extensions are applied to your natural lashes. depending on the client's desired look, i will do a volume lash ratio but styled more naturally so it may not look like the typical “volume” lashes we are used to seeing!
Q: do I have to wait 24 hours to get my lash extensions wet?
A: no! you can get them wet as soon as the glue has fully cured. for those who experience any mild irritation or dryness after their appointment, i recommend washing them with lukewarm water and my lash cleanser. i recommend my clients avoid hot steam (hot shower, hot tub, facials) for the first day just in case!
